Yes I did a long time ago. In aligning it..... I got "ham handed" with a multimeter probe, apparently touched TWO things with the probe tip, heard a "very slight pop"......
and PPPPPHHHHhhhhhhttttttt she was gone!!!!!!!!

I have had an account on cbradioforum DOT com for many many many years... but I had not checked in for about 2 months.
I just followed my link like always, the browser plugged in my credentials like always, I clicked "log in" like always......

I wound up getting it (the 3 book set).... actually, my oldest son knew I wanted the set so he got it for me for Christmas several years ago. I am so glad I did! I have read sections of it like a "novel".

Mike, I have never modified a radio to accept an electret. Is the idea to 1) add the resistor to tie power to the audio line, and 2) the cap is to pick the mic audio off of the audio line and pass it on to mic amps? I'm guessing so ... but it never hurts to ask....
