Dan, I wonder if I could call on you for a slightly DIFFERENT kind of favor???? I am reading 399's great paper on various uPD858 radios and how to care for them. In one section... he mentions the biasing of the finals in ORIGINAL President and Cobra radios as using a 70 mA bias circuit and...

Calling on some wisdom from the group....

I have what I am calling a labor of love to do. A few years back a friend of my son Tim (Skip... who owned Outlaws Toy Radio CB Shop) died of a heart attack in his mobile repair van while working on a radio..... parked at home. A short while later... his wife let Tim come over and take...

    Realistic TRC-457 stock, freq issue

I'm dragging up late on this one.... Have you done any "nosing around" in the area of FET7? That is the XMIT Mixer. Just to verify that the inputs are good, that the voltages present indicate a proper bias condition, AND if the output of that mixer is on frequency?? Just an idea....

Careful with those lithium battery banks

I have to wonder what they "MAY BE" doing wrong with them??? Those batteries are used "all over the place" in ham for backup systems AND for portable operations. In all the discussions, videos and talks that I have seen on portable ops with these batteries... I have not heard of one in THAT...

Not "CB" but "CB Bench" related.....

Frankly, I think I have gotten over any concerns that I had from this guy's input. I'm feeling all better now. :D
