Had this amp for couple years worked great. Then one day I went to use it and all the lights went out and power dropped to nothing. I checked coax ,fuses, connections.is this worth fixing
I agree and this is how I tune .mine I really don't think ham ops are gonna tear down there tower to change out coax to a magical length to use 11 meters .lol
Rg400 is decent coax . I've used as much as18 feet on my quad mag mount. For jumpers should be fine .check the wattage rating on the coax . And never use 1 foot jumpers way too short ..I recommend 6 foot or 9 foot.i 've seen high defect going back to the radio with shorter than 6 foot jumpers
After having my older friends had one of course I wanted one. I got my chance in1993. Stated with a cobra 19 ultra and cheap antennspa.my first base station came in 1996 I had a 40ch. C ourrier. And a99.thru.the years many different setups
Having owned the Imax and switching to a sirio 2016 . I'll take the aluminum any day over the fiberglass ..mainly cause the receive seems quiter .I never owned the maco but I would think results would be similar.also those fiberglass do have great swrs ,but so do dummyloads
