I have been learning cw for the last six months, and i love it.I have been learning all by myself just using w1aw code practice files, free desktop software, aps on my phone etc. . Im not saying im really good at it, but i think making cw qso's at 13-15 wpm is alot of fun. I feel like i have...

    11 meter is very quiet?

It seems like conditions have been really bad for the last month or so on 11 meters. I like 10 meters. I always listen to 38 lsb first when ever i turn on the radio, to see if its worth calling cq on 10 meters. It seems like even 20meters has been bad also. I have been learning cw for the last...

Wanted: driver tube heat shield for kenwood to-520

Yes thank you, yes I got the tube shield, from a guy in Arizona that has a lot of Kenwood hybrid parts. And I bought a nos ge 12by7 on eBay for like 12 dollars. And the radio works now.

Wanted: driver tube heat shield for kenwood to-520

Yes the 12by7a driver tube is completely missing. And from what research I have done there is supposed to be a slip on heat shield on it. I have never owned or operated a kenwood hybrid before. I have already ordered a tube from eBay. But from what research I have done the shield is important...

Wanted: driver tube heat shield for kenwood to-520

I bought an old kenwood ts-520 at a local ham fest, was told it was working. Got it home started messing with discovered it had no rf out put. And that the driver tube was completely missing. If anyone has any junk kenwood hybrids or parts laying around, I will gladly buy the tube heat shield...

Cheap Auto tuner I'm gandering at.

I have the one you linked, I bought it from Amazon a few months ago. I use it with a magnet mount Wilson 1000 on the roof of my truck. It’s able to tune the phone part of 12 meters to 2:1 swr. And then pretty much the whole phone part of the 10meters to 1.5-1. It’s small and seems to work well...

Cheap Auto tuner I'm gandering at.

I have one that I use mobile, with my qt40 in my truck on 10 and 12 meters. I have it wired to 12v cigarette lighter plug. It seems to work good. I have only owned it for a little over two months.

    Robyn sb505d

I don’t have a schematic, maybe somebody here has one. This radio is a single conversion uniden chassis. Pc-385 board. The board in these radios is extremely similar to a cobra 140 gtl, now obviously the controls on the front of the radio are different than a 140 gtl. But if you can find a...

Sideband mobile CB with best/most audio

Like others have mentioned already. the best 40 channel Ssb radios ever made, at least IMO, are the uniden pc122xl, trc465, 146gtl and similar chassis radio’s. They have excellent tx audio, and are rock solid on frequency. They just work really well, and are good for mobile use as well.

    Found this on Goodwill

I agree because, thats the kind of radio that was basically a beginners radio roughly 30 years ago. Thats the kind of radio that would sell at a hamfest or local club or something, for $300.00 dollars or less, in good working condition. Maybe a little bit more if it had the matching power supply...

    Found this on Goodwill

The kenwood sold for $329.00 add at least another $25.00 for shipping handling taxes etc. Then you need to source a microphone and power cord for it,or purchase a plug that fits a kenwood and wire an existing microphone. Pray that the radio is packed well enough by the goodwill people to survive...

    Another GoodWill find

Prices get almost as high as eBay. I recently watched a ameritron solid state amp and Mfj manual antenna tuner along with an old shure desk microphone. Sell for almost $800 dollars plus shipping. If it all works perfectly that I guess that’s not a bad deal. But spending big bucks on goodwill is...

    11 meter is very quiet?

That’s awesome man, I don’t know why more people don’t get at least, there tech license. 10 meters is a lot of fun when it’s open and working dx is easy when it is.

    Heath sb-1400 won’t tx on 10 & 12 meters.

I recently picked up a Heath sb-1400 aka yaesu 747gx minus the the front firing internal speaker. The radio will tx on 15 meters and up. A couple of times it has worked on 10 meters and I was able tx in am cw and usb into a dummy load. Then I turned the radio off, and back on about 30 minutes...
