Thanks, it's just a long length of thin copper wire in a plastic sleeve. It isn't insulated at either end. I was wondering also if slotting an antenna tuner into my set up might improve reception?
Hi,
Am using a single length of copper wire as a short wave aerial. Works okay. Was just wondering if I could add to it? What I don't want to do is short circuit the wire I already have.
Thanks,
Ric
Thanks, I guess I'll just double up on the copper I've already got on the roof - can't do any harm and might rope me in some more stations.
Can't find that loop antenna anyway - under a ton of stuff somewhere in the garage no doubt
Yes - sorry, I'm new to this - have results at shortwave 5.7 Megahertz and (less so at) 11.7 Megahertz.
Also have SW Mhz Bands 3.5, 7, 9.5, 14, 15, 17.5 & 27 which are pretty quiet day & night.
Would adding to the antenna help please?
Thanks,
R

Would boosting my antenna help? Currently I have sheathed copper wire going round half the rooftop
- could I double back on this by adding a new length of...
Thanks, did quite a lot of surfing last night. The needle started bobbing up here & there so I guess all is fine? That meter is a bit of a mystery to me :-o
Hi,
Got a slight problem - the '5 Unit' signal strength indicator has stopped working. Am still picking up good signals however (Taiwan, Cuba). Can I fix the meter though?
Thanks,
R
