Yeah I was wandering why would my 2000 meter lights dim when I key down the mike? Also I am only seeing 1 1/2 watt dk swinging to around 6 watts on AM, also to around 6 watt on SSB seems awfully low to me. Tried to set the bias on the driver/final with no luck the pots seem to make no difference in the mA on my meter! Any help would be appreciated

what is the voltage from your power supply. sounds like it could be a low voltage problem. you should have 13.8 volts on the board. try an external power supply to see if it corrects its self.

I need to post a picture of the 10uf 50-Volt cap on that radio's regulator board that can cause this symptom.

All by itself.

It's shown as C302 in the factory schematic.

You'll hear suggestions to replace the big filter capacitor, the bridge rectifier and the big voltage-regulator transistor.

But we have found that this capacitor causes this mischief at least as often as all those other possible causes put together.

It's the only electrolytic capacitor on the tiny voltage-regulator pc board.

But it's important.
