If you could create a cool new CB product what would it be?

Interested to hear what people feel is lacking or just some ideas on things you'd like to see in the CB world?

The DDS VFO from Troy has been pretty neat lately - what other cool things do you want someone to create?

Sky is the limit here

I'll start off with some crazy ideas.

  • Handheld (or desk) Microphone with everything the digital UR6QW has but controlled via bluetooth and a app on your phone. (Kind of like the Motorola CB Talk App Microphone they launched - colors and functions can be controlled by the phone app) on that model). You could control EQ, Compression, Noise Gate all from your phone.

  • CB with built in wifi module that can connect to the internet and stream in high quality both receive and transmit (the ultimate watergate).

  • CB with remote control via phone - talk, listen, change frequencies via phone app.
And of course I want all of them to be affordable :)

A cb with selectable filters

YES! Add DSP with adjustments.

Here's another crazy idea - voice controls - like Amazon Echo , or the newest GoPro has them, you can tell it to turn on, etc.

It would be great for hands free in the vehicle - some things it could do by voice

Turn on
Change Volume "set volume level 5"
Change Frequency "go to channel 19" or "go to 27555"
Change Mic Gain "set mic gain to 85"
Change RF power "set power to 1 watt"

This would be super handy on the road.

How about an export with a amp remote plug built in for turning it on and off (like your car stereo can do with the amp). Would also be cool if the radio would auto adjust output when it knows the amp is on.

(Below close enough to a somewhat super-sized 95 or 99 Galaxy. Wider)

ZERO online/WiFi/Bluetooth. ZERO remote-operating (except — maybe — VOX).

Non-SMT design.

Selectable filters, as above (DSP-variable)
Adjustable tone control

“Amp section” 75W or so with on/off (run a separate amp with key switch).

Knobs. Rocker switch. (true linearity with knobs)

Cross-Needle or twin meters.
Backlit faceplate.
6-Digit FC

Mic power thru cord. Side-plug.

No internal speaker.

Optional fabric side-handle and attachable bottom plate for tilt-stand plus side-mount for 12V fuse/ distribution panel. (Base or Mobile Radio)

One helluva high quality NC microphone.

Remote head radio that uses TCP/IP (think internet protocol) to talk to the base unit. As long as you have a network connection it should be useable. If you're away from home you should be able to connect in via VPN and shoot skip from a hotel room six states away.
