Overheard someone talking about an estate sale that had "loads" of ham and CB gear. Decided to check it out. I pulled in four Cobra 148 GTL's, a Cobra 146 GTL, a Cobra 138 XLR, a JCPenney 6247, a Royce 1-639, a Tram D60, a TRC-57, a TRC-490, a Turner +2, and two boxes of Sams CB books. All of this for $100. Unfortunately some of the Sam's books were water damaged beyond usefulness and had to be tossed.

So now I have to explain all this to the XYL...

It's always easier to ask for forgiveness rather than to ask for permission :ROFLMAO:

No explanation necessary, for all of those radios 100 bucks is just a drop in the bucket!

One hell of a deal... I bought one of those JC Penney 6247 radios years ago, but I swore I have to yell into the mic before any decent modulation came out of them. Curious if all 4 of your 148 GTL radios are around the same years or various ones.

Two are side mic, two are front mic, so definitely differing years.
