In theory, it sounds great. Has anyone ever been able to show that the wrong length actually shows a loss in some way? It might help someone who is driving Chinese transistors on the edge of failure in order to make reflected power low as possible?

The best way to listen to your transmit audio, is with a second radio with earphones and no antenna. I use a Cobra 148 as a station monitor and give my audio a quick check every time I power up.
