Going to fIre up the base around noon EST again today. 37 LSB. Lot of contacts yesterday (20+), and hoping that today will be just as good. EPM was replacing a line transformer yesterday, so I was without power for a couple of hours in the afternoon. Hope that they're done with that.

I heard WDX226 ROD in Texas call CQ-Dx and we talked for a minute or so and then he got covered up by the pile. Asked him to pick a different freq, but then lost him completely. I thought I heard 23 BC Coyote, but only for a moment.

Our closest big city, Medellin, is called, " The City of Eternal Spring." Spring-like weather every day all year long. Even better up here in the mountains. Always low humudity - 40 to 50 % max. Mid to hi 70s most every day. Nice breeze coming up out of the valley. Paradise. But sometimes I miss...
Got back on the air at about 5:30 this afternoon. Called CQ and talked to several stations in the Southeast and Midwest. Station seems to be doing well, but I think I need to fine tune it a little. Called for 23 BC Coyote, but no comeback. I'll try again tomorrow, Sean. 73 all

Working on it. Peddling as fast as I can. Working inside an SMD radio w/o a schematic is slow going. When my Radioddity QT80 gets here, I'll hook it up and still have the Q6PRO on my bench. By the time it gets here DX will probsbly be dead. Murphy's Law.

I haven't been on the air since mid July. Doing some upgrades. Everytime I think I 'm ready to key down, something happens. Today I got it all hooked up and ready to go (I thought), but the fans on my amp were so loud that I probably need to replace them. Maybe I can use the Q6PRO's transmit...
Icom just gets better and better. I really love the HDMI port for an external display.
Looks like I'll have to start campaigning for a Christmas present (depending on the cost, of course).

WOW, This brought back a lot of memories. Back in the day there were three surplus electronics stores in Indy that I visited regularly. Radio Shack's main Indiana close-out store in downtown, Lafayette Radio on the northside, and Midwest Electronics in Lawrence. Shopped on Thursdays because...
So many of my base station contacts live off the beaten path. Like Luz and I in the mountains of Colombia. Seldom do I hook up with a station in a big city. They're out there but few and far between. .
I was just wondering where you base operators are located. Do you have an HOA or problems with...
If it's made by Anytone, then here is a chance it will be something good. Other wise . . . who knows ?? Low power, no new features, Typical Utube presentation. Looks like a loser to me.

GaNi devices are definiely the next big thing in Power amp chips. As with all new tech they are 2-3 times more expensive then LDMOS, but with their higher power handling capability are actually Inline with LDMOS in cost. Use in audio power amps is increasing, as well as in broadcast power amps...
