The MegaWatt's are only slightly better than some others.They all make noise depending on which frequencies/ bands you're on.They all, including the MegaWatt's seem to deteriorate over time and get noisier.
These switches don't typically go bad.Whats' wrong with the one you have, worn contacts, broken contacts ? I'm betting it isn't bad unless you can see physical damage to the switch.
Ham, CB, shortwave should all be fun, interesting, enjoyable.If these signals and adjacent stations and operators are so frustrating you should take up a less stressful hobby like growing grass or watching paint dry ! SMH
You will have to trace and troubleshoot the main B+ and find out where it's missing, that's the ONLY way to do it.Throwing parts into it that may or may not be bad isn't the way to go.
