    11 METER DX TODAY

Here in Washington the 11 dx has been pretty good for the short contacts. I have talked several times in the last two weeks to a couple stations in Alaska and to a station in Yellowknife, North West Territories, Canada. It's the first time in about 30 years that I have heard any one from there...

This compressor will also fill the many paint ball tanks that are around the area, we will charge for each tank that is filled to offset the price. There are 5 of us that went in on the compressor, so that's only $280 each.

A bigger capacity tank won't do any good, it's already a 5000 psi max tank. It's like I said, the scuba shop can only fill to a max of 3500 psi. My tank is similar to the ones that the firemen use on there backs for air - they are filled at 4500 psi.

    any airgun fans here ?

There is only one scuba shop around here and it's a 24 mile drive to & from. But they can only fill my tank up to 3500 psi and so I was only able to get about 3 fills from it. So I then went to a local fire station and was able to get the tank filled to 4500 psi and that made a big difference.

    any airgun fans here ?

Just make sure you have a good water filter for it - water is not good for the inside of a PCP. Yes the Chinese pumps are cheaper and there is a reason for it...............

    any airgun fans here ?

If you go with a hand pump, make sure it's set up for using the water crystals (to remove water). But best way is getting a 88 cu ft tank. But just make sure you have a way of filling it before you spend the big $$$ for it. Four of us guys went together and bought a $1300 air compressor last...

I agree with you jessejamesdalas, although some people just don't have the room for a tower and beam, so then I can see the need for the extra juice. My 100 watt mobile radio & beam work just great. I now have 218 dxcc with this combination on 11 meters. Reunion Is., Comoros Islands...

What do you do, or did you do, for a living?

Out of the Army at 22. Started working at a steel plant here as a inspector of 106 mm recoilless artillery shell casings. After that, on to the "bomb" plant working as a steel melter on "induction furnace". Melting steel for small bombs. Year of that, then onto the big foundry, that is where...

On another note, here is something else to keep in mind; 27.195 usb (between 19 & 20) is use by many stations from central Asia, one being Kirgyzstan (309 division). Also 27.190 is used for FM over there. I know this to be true because I worked two stations from there a few years back. Ch. 40...
