I have come to the conclusion vintage radios need a vintage tech, The guys that saw all of the problems when these radios were new. Thankfully there are still a few good vintage techs out there to help with the boat anchors we love.
The trick with stability on the 2547 is to leave it pluged in all the time. The switching power supply will stay warm and keep the thing pre heated, otherwise it takes 20-30 min to stabilize.
There is a service manual, with full schematic and part layout/ list. Any president dealer will have no trouble obtaining it. Now finding a service manual for the quad 6 pro may be more difficult.
