Some times you have to take life with a grain of salt or you'd go crazy Ya win some Ya lose some. I worked on my 4 wheeler in the garage today until I said enough is enough, Time to retire the old gal, she's been good but time for a heated JD Gator.
Didn't have much time today for radio because was taking care of the winter wood pile for the garage. But when I did go out for a sandwich my mobile radio was full of Texas and I shouted out for a Texas contact, Unit 399, and WWDX members but got no response. OH Well the solar site said...
I was very mobile today in my car and heard a lot of clear yakking on my Q6 Pro but only made 1 contact in Corpus Christie but at lease I know my radio is reaching out. I was beginning to have my doubts so it's good to get drug back to reality. LOL
There is no doubt about it,there is some with lesser intelligence that walk the face of the 11 meter world and in our civilized society we can't kill them all. LOL
Conditions haven't been very good the last several days around here, but that's OK because I've been up to my butt in alligators anyway. And they are saying Oct. is suppose to be warmer than normal and I might be putting in a new furnace ( If the price is right ) so looks like Oct. is going to...
That solar sight says 10-12 meter poor today and the couple time I tried it pretty much worked out that way even when I ran to Harbor Freight in the Big City ! LOL I guess we can't win them all !
When the gas well drilling crews were in the area 11 meter AM was hopping and you could find talking every where on am. Now the area is dead for 11 meter AM and if it wasn't for skip when it rolls, you might better take a nap. Once in a while if your next to the interstate you can get a radio...
I made 2 contacts today with my Lincoln II+. The first was on ch 23 FM and the operator 485 was clear as a bell just outside of San Antonio Texas and only running 51 watts. We exchanged Flowers on radios. The second one was from Colorado clear but with less volume. Looks like the Lincoln II+...
I did hit Scotland when I went North about 20 miles up out of this stinking valley. This valley runs about 25-30 miles before it opens up on both ends. And US Rt. 11 runs up thru the valley almost at the bottom only superseded by streams and ponds. A beautiful area but the curse for a radio...
About now we are all praying for rain around here because everything is scorched and ready for fire. And I think that Wild Fire smoke from Canada had a negative effect on some of our vegetation. I never seen my Horseradish green tops look so bad.
Yeah I heard that yesterday 36-40 lsb and couldn't get a comeback and kind of thought I might be Covered Up. I might have to start exploring my radios other channels potential !
I think I would have better luck if I could set at my base station but this time of year around here is a busy work schedule, burning up the jobs that need to be done because the Good Tooth Fairy isn't going to do it. November is the time I start slowing down until Deer Season hits. I'm not...
Activity has been robust since mid afternoon but for some reason I haven't made a contact on either of my mobile Q6 Pros. Scratching the noggin again !
