I actually just got done talking to WDX 122 about 10 minutes ago myself. Good stuff! The radio is busy busy here.

I did get myself one of them cheap testers off eBay. Was going through some transistors to try and match some sets of 4. After looking here, it says that turn-on voltage or "Vth" is the value you want to match. My question is, what if one transistor is 1.74v and the next transistor tests...

I am seriously considering getting a QT80. Seems like everyone is happy with the radio. I would use it in the mobile so I don't have to have a foot warmer attached.

The only problem is shipping. :) I dont know if I would be comfortable shipping something that big. I bought it from the original owner a few years ago. I didn't even open it up and let it be. I am from Kansas. I think they were valued way more a few years ago vs now. But I ain't one to milk...

My memory was fogged about recalling what the channel we all tried lol! Yep.. At any rate maybe 40 Upper should be a nice thing to try. (That Sunday, and maybe 16 Lower for the Saturday) 1:30AM, so struggling to see which days of the week that falls into lol. :D

Think I should be around a radio at that time. I think the other time we tried for 35 USB, but I think someone was already on it? Been too long, but Maybe 40 USB is the better bet. 33 Seems to be hammered with AM stations at times. (At least for me out here in Kansas.)

Will do. The one that comes to mind is Lone Mountain outside of Lovelock, Nevada. I think by then I can have a setup I can deploy. Most likely on 20 meters to be sure I can get out, or I can lug a tuner as well to try other bands like 15,12, or 10. The Scout 555 radio I got in 2019 still works ok.

Now that looks pretty good. I also been meaning to do SOTA. I only ever did POTA a couple of times. There is some smaller mountains out in Nevada I wouldn't mind hiking up and setting up.

Antenna is just a dipole up 30 feet so far.

Will a low pass filter inline with the amp not work if I got a smaller amp to use while camping so I didn't have to lug a big amp?
