Maybe this has been covered (didnt see it if so) but for those folks with the noisy s5-s7 on their n2 meters, has the radio been tested out in the mobile with vehicle not running. Ideally out a little from all the neighborhoods noise. Im wondering if some or all of the later prod boards are not...
Hi guys, i watched a video where the s-meter on his qt40 didnt register incoming signals right. Kinda just sits mid meter. Anyone know if that is a thing with this model and if ares 2 does it as well ? Thx
Thanks for the info Brandon. I will give that a try. If no go i will learn to live with it. A buddy of mine didnt like the 2547 and wanted a saturn i had so we traded one old drifter for this newer drifter. To me it was a good deal just in age difference. Have a great day and upcoming weekend

Hi guys. I hope i am not beating a dead horse here with this and realize in the grand scheme of things that the last digit on the freq display being off a tad is no deal breaker. This base is new non modifed and after warmed up the last digit sits at 1. I realize i can correct this using...
Yes the radios i use are stock single final like 980 ssb and 2510. I wont bother using the drake filter unless i use my small amp. Just for good measure.
I would have thought it would need to go behind the amp if running one. To clean up a likely splatter box as someone mentioned earlier :) which in my case would be something like a small rm203 or similar built unit. What got me on this subject was watching 2 vids from scotts radios where hes...
Some good info and suggestions. Thanks. I think ill dust off the filter i have kicking around here and see how it changes my current swr if any. Im curious :)
I appreciate all the comments. Well i have this here that i have been lugging around for years and probably should just use it seeing i have it.
Thx 73's
Posting before & after pics in low light conditions with anytone 5555n. Not perfect but pretty decent considering no need to take appart front panel and easily removed if ever needed Total cost of this low tech lighting solution was probably $10.
Some good points Brandon. Since i have moved to my present location and knowing hes basically around the corner i have done very little TX'ing not wanting to piss him off even using a stock cb 4/12w setup. I guess at the end of the day its compromise and respect.
Thx for your input.
Thanks for the info Brandon. I ask this question as i have a amateur neighbour less then a mile away from me and was thinking it would be good to keep my 27mhz activity out of his shack if possible. Yes a bandpass filter is i think more what i was aiming at.
Thx and 73's
