This is how I fixed a Realistic TRC-449 in 2021. No RX/TX, but poking around the damn thing sprung to life. The cold solder joint was hard to see, but after adding a bit of solder to that area, its been great since.
I had some trouble with a dirty channel selector on my Base 139 23 Channel. This made it where there was no receive/transmit. Maybe change the channel selector a bit a few times back and forth to see if something comes in.
Thank you. That clears up some of the confusion I had for probably many many years and never got to use 6m. I will have to make that dipole my Elmer always talked about to make on 6m. A rotatable dipole from some copper tubing and a plastic T connector lol. May he rest in peace. His callsign...

Nice! It is in the works of getting something portable to go setup wherever we go. For now its just a Ten Tec Scout 555 but that is not as portable lol. Im sure something will come along, but your radio is a great one.
Welcome.
Sad to hear about your good friend passing. It will always be tough and just like anything else, it takes time. Hope you do feel better as time goes on.
Nice radio. I always liked the Grant radios. What Grant is yours? I know the first few looked the same in the front, but physically...
