Driver Transistor is a C-2166 and the final transistor is a C-1969.The 1969 final is harder to come across though but can be found.Some have been switching over to MOFSFET's.

I found the problem finally.I replaced D-129 and Q-114 in the AMC circuit.Work's like a charm now.Before,SSB worked great.Great output.FM had audio out as well.Just was getting any audio on AM.Had power output just no modulation.

Did anybody ever figure out the problem to this?I have a 2510 with no am modulation on it as well.Works fine on ssb.Any fix for it?? Thank's Danny

You WONT get 100watts from the dx77hml without adding a stinger board or some sorts of RF Modification to it.The radio itself properly tuned you should see maybe 40 to 45 watts max pep.I wouldnt worry too much about the microphones you're running.If you talked that kind of distance on it then...

chassis,several thing's you did not mention.One being did the shop check the radio for being on frequency?Does your repair guy have all of the neccessary equipment to properly check the radio such as,Frequency Counter,RF Signal Generator,Ocilloscope?It does sound like the radio is low on recieve...

Hi chassis221....You left out several variables about the DX77hml.First off,check the antenna and make sure it is tuned for lowest SWR.Make sure you use the best meter you have available to check it with.What kind of wattage did you see on the 77?And what type of watt meter were you checking it...

You can lift 2 of legs on the final and driver transistor and check with ohm meter in the diode check mode.Also check the VR with ohm meter you were adjusting to make sure it is adjusting the resistence.Look the bottom the of the board over good for bad solder joints too.

If you have no RF getting to the driver tube i'd suspect the relay.The contacts for the input RF side could be bad or not making a good connection when engaged.

Are there 2 resistors together where the one is burnt or just one?If it is just one i'd say it's 100ohm at least 1watt.The capacitor i'm thinking is around 1000uf at least 25vdc.If you have 2 resistors together it would be 200ohm 1watt.Might not be a bad idea to check the pills.Did your wattage...
