hay guys , just wanted to ask about this radio , it is in the tradeing post near me for 30 bucks ,,, i know that is not alot of money , but still wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with this radio ,?? i am useing a mobil 29 ltd classic for a base station at the moment ,,, witch...

well that baby isent buckling it has new floor pans in it , new brakes all the way around , rebuilt the motor 3-4 years ago with all new parts 1641cc , counterweight'd crank , and a eagle 110 cam , added a external oil filter and a 8 pass oil cooler to as well . she looks like crap but will...

thanks for the advice , and yea i wont be doing anything to the radio ,,,, i was just wondering what it did by cutting it , because both are cut , lolol .. also everytime i talk to someone they say i sound clear as can be, and that my audio is clean and crisp ... boy there sure is alot to...

thats the only meter i have , i also have a multi meter . . but like i said the newer 29 i have seams to be working as far as the swr meter , but still doesn't seam to be getting out past 7 miles .. the only thing done to this radio is the ( d 11 ) has been cut ( whats that do anyways ...

its probably not worth anything , but i thought id share a few pic of it ,,, it was made September of 1977 , so its 6 moths younger then me ,( im 31 ) . has a battery compartment for aa"s , so it can be used with being in a car ,,, kinda cool i thought. its a midland 77-861 . [/IMG]...

yea this is the original for sure .. its all aluminum .... and i got it from a old guy , that has had it for 25 years he said ,,,, it was still new in the box , i have pictures of the box ,, made by the antenna specialist

everything i have seen says a steal pipe , it also has treads into the bottem hub . humm anyone know for sure ??

ooook maybe i spoke to soon , i get a recieve tone and can hear people ... and when i key up , the meter moves , but no one will come back for a radio check ,, so i took the mic to my mobil that has talk back , and im getting nothing form the mic , hummm???:confused:

would the antenna i have on a 20 foot mass need a guy wire system ?? and to make sure a guy wire system is 3 ropes pulling from different directions ?

would my antenna being higher help me out ? or i guess what im asking is what are some suggestions i could do to get out there more ?

nope that wasn't it .... but i switched a few wires around wile it was hooked into the radio , and i got it to work ,,, the colors are as followed #1 pin was the bare wire #2 pin was black #3 pin was purple #4 pin was red just figured id post the fix , jut incase someone else...
