Real CB Radios are side mic

Real CB's are right mic! Just pulled this out of the old work truck. Jeez, the oilfield is dusty I guess.

Are your shelves stocked with primers? I'd love to see that round here.

CTK Gun Vise & Shooting Rest

It is so hard to find a level that has any reasonable degree of accuracy, that I just gave up. The last few times i used a level, it was a machinist level, and I just leveled the scope mount base to the turret.

CTK Gun Vise & Shooting Rest

I have the wheeler level that sits on the action rails, and it doesn't work well at all. The barrel clamp level will work as well as you use it I suppose. I just eyeball the rifle level, then level the turret and scope mounted level. Shoot a few big box tests to be sure the reticle is...

    Windom antenna/ocf dipole

These show a 4:1 balun, but being ocfd, is it really balanced? Is there an actual difference between a 4:1 current unun vs a 4:1 current balun?

    More overpriced fleabay insanity

I apologize, that was terrible wording on my part. I should have said something more like "when people display a lack of appreciation and/or understanding of..."

    More overpriced fleabay insanity

Price discovery is a healthy part of a free market, and I'm all for it. Complaints about asking prices always remind me of the J P Morgan story. Being the astute jeweler that he was, Mr. Tiffany knew that Mr. Morgan had an acute affinity for diamond stickpins. One day, Tiffany came across a...

Mobile Antenna Studs, Why No Notches?

Workman and firestik are total junk. May want to step up to a lug mount, or a breedlove 239 mount. I don't think breedlove has notches in their mounts either, but I bet they would stand behind them if they failed. I bet your connectors are getting loose and causing the failure. Are you...

Mobile Antenna Studs, Why No Notches?

I thought that was just truck stop trash? I've only used NMO and 3/8x24. Is there any good that could come from using hf connectors for an antenna? Edit. I'm an idiot apparently. I've never had enough room under a headliner for a 90 degree pl259, and my antennas are typically so big they...

anyone know what the name is for this cord?

The IEC 320 C7 non polarized should work, but it will be non polarized. Without the dimensions of the old plug, it's hard to guarantee anything.

    Another fleabay burn

I once sold a flashlight on Ebay, and Ebay granted a return because it smelled sweet. It sat on my wife's nightstand. If it isn't listed as "for parts or not working" ebay will return it for any silly reason, no matter what the listing details say.

I got my countertop supports installed and tossed some stuff on there to get an idea of space. I think it will work out well... I hope.

    Bonding results after 6 years

There are many products that include zinc and they claim it increases conductivity, while study's show the opposite. I looked around for 30 minutes and could find zero electrical testing performed on the product. If I got it for free I'd probably smear it over the screw after assembly, but I...

Teflon is commonly used as an insulator, so I would doubt it would be a great product to use for bonding. As always, I could be wrong.

I live 20 hours from the nearest ocean, yet drive in salt water every winter. I would think a boat floating in sea water would be very similar to an automobile driving in salt water, but I could be wrong.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.practical-sailor.com/boat-maintenance/conductive-greases-vs-corrosion%3famp=1 There have been many other real studies that show that metal particles are at best ok, and many times worse than none, especially zinc.

    Bonding results after 6 years

Based on the performance of the no-ox-id, I'd say a dab of that under the washer might make a difference. Maybe drill the hole, then add the grease? All of the threads were rusted. It might even be wise to pull a few screws to check them one a year and possibly reapply grease? The bottom...

    Bonding results after 6 years

I removed the bonding from my old truck that was installed in 2015. This is under the hood, and doesn't look too bad. These 2 are at the bottom back corners of the cab. These were internal star washers. One appears to have 4 shiny spots, and the other has none These are at the cab...

    73's?? Or 73 ?

Don't worry little buddy, the ban hammer is in CK's closet. Nobody wants to come out of the closet wielding a hammer, that's just awkward
