So, delayed update to this saga. The buddy tried doing a little bonding with some copper flashing held down to both sides of the "joints" of the roof with magnets. He sanded down to bare metal under those spots. He applied this to maybe 3-4 spots. It did help the SWR a bit. I encouraged him...
