As long as he don’t use more than 500w, Rg-58 will be ok. Solid dielectric like RG-58 and RG-400 is the standard for this type of application. Try to avoid foam dielectric if you plan to run the coax between any door. It won’t last as much as the solid dielectric.

For mobile, use RG-400 ( don’t get confused with the LMR-400, not the same ) . It is MIL- Spec ideal for mobile. It is expensive, but worth any penny.

I would install mine about 3 feet above the Mosley TA-33 WARC yagi. The one on the picture, I think is is too close to the beam. Will there be any difference if I install it close to the beam against 3 or more above any yagi antenna ?

I can add a half inch ( about 1 feet long ) strap to the rear hinge. Will it resolve the ground looses ? I tested them with the ground strap as well with no noticeable differences. The three magnets have aluminum foil to improve capacitive ground.
