    First AM/FM FCC Approval

It did. Then we got 27 MHz, in addition to 462.

    Build me a Ham Shack

Here's a book for you: https://sgcworld.com/Publications/Books/stealthbook.pdf It's from SGC and is geared towards the feedpoint mounted autotuners, which they make. The MFJ tuner I linked in the previous post is similar and works with the same antennas.

IC718 is a good rig at a good price. I would go for the FT-991A, though. That gets you 6M, 2M and 70cm as well as HF. And I'm a long time Yaesu fan. Don't scrimp on the power supply, either. Astron makes some really good ones. I have this one: https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/asr-rm-50m-bb It...

    FrankenDAK radio

For that kind of money you could get a really nice HF rig and a 1000+ watt tube amp to go with it.

Let's please leave CH 19 27.185 for the drivers.

Local AMers around here use 21. BTW, here's what a real Knucklehead sounds like:

    Terminated endfed inverted Vee

This antenna design is in some military field manuals as a vertical half rhombic. It works best if it is at least two wavelengths at the lowest operating frequency, but it does work at shorter lengths.

US WWDXers: Will you be getting a FM rig?

Yep. To me it's not AM OR FM OR SSB; it's AM AND FM AND SSB. Each has its advantages, and I intend to use all of them.

Real CB Radios are side mic

That's what I'm using with my DX86V. On-air reports are that it has a more mellow sound than the Astatic 636L and RD104.

    Galaxy DX86V mods

Off topic, but I just noticed you have at this moment 6955 likes! Couldn't let that go to waste without a comment. Anyone who is or has ever been interested in shortwave pirate radio will know what I'm talking about.

    Anytone 6666

I have one too, and it works great for me. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that you can't do channel steps while being able to see the freq you're on. I have a new Lincoln II+ that I'm probably going to put in my truck to replace the quad 6, primarily for that reason.

From that, it sounds like the front end filters have a narrow bandwidth. Anyone know how to adjust the passband?

    Galaxy DX86V mods

Just had a nice ragchew with a couple of locals on 38 lsb, and got good reports on the DX86V. I tried an Astatic 636L, RD104, and a ProComm power mic. Reports were that the two Astatic mics were similarly punchy, good for DX. Of course the RD104 was louder because it's amplified. The ProComm was...

    DX86V

The J3 connector on the band board, I pushed some of the pins out and moved them to D, G and H so the factory front panel switch gives : C= CB channels, D= 28.315-28.755, E= 28.765-29.205. That way I have CB, 10M SSB subband, 10M AM subband.
