Thanks Jay and Wavrider ...
This is a M107 set to factory specs with a 10k gamma
should be fun experimenting any way.. My tower is a crank up fold over so that's not an issue..
I have extra parts to put it back to Maco specs if it doesn't turn out better or at least as good as it is now...
anyone ever try a split driven element , hair pin match and balun on a Maco beam ???
I have gathered all the parts to insulate , split and support the driven element
I also have coming a Balun with side lugs by Balun designs.... should be hear in a few days
i will post up some pics when...
What benefits if any would you gain by adding a 1:1 balun at the feed point of a IMax2000
this antenna does not have the ground plain kit
I have a nice 1:1 balun by Balun Designs i could use
any input ??
your pulling my chain ..right ??
a quality built in echo would give the appearance of that "BIG BASE STATION" sound
you would be the envy of most your friends and ALL the truck drivers !!
BREAK, BREAK !!
antenna and mast are not that heavy....one man can handle it if the wind not blowing !!!!!!!!!!...... the tower is a different story...you will need mechanical means
I stood the retracted tower up with my truck..
then put the antenna together on the ground with the mast pipe in place.
then...
It has the lugs welded to the tower and base hinge plate to accept the crank over mechanism.
However , i do not have these parts installed .
I used my truck to stand it up on the hinge plate
MAN...... i thought i had it bad ...LOL
I lived just north of Baton Rouge LA most of my life... had a few storms come thru..that i can remimber... Andrew being the big one
Still have many good life long friends around Zachary La... they got hit pretty hard from Katrina and Rita...
no guy wires..........self standing crank up with a 4'x4'x4' concrete and rebar block at its base
Its right at 45 foot to the boom
it can be lowered below the roof line .. if it get bad
