Is there an internal adjustment for mic gain on this radio? If so what VR is it and could I wire this to an external pot on the back of the radio?
Also does anyone have any info on a way to have external control of the AM carrier? I do a lot of ssb with this but most of my locals talk AM and if...
If the price is right I'd take one of these and see about having my tech install this on a rotary switch and see about getting a nice freq counter installed as well to have an idea on where your at when mobile and unable to read an actual channel map. This 146gtl and my Texas star 667 will be...

with all of this know said and discussed i think ive come to the conclusion that the best option is to setup a mount for a "portable" yagi antenna to see the most gain in signal for least amount of headache. so i will be posting up pictures of what i will work on tomorrow at work if i have time...
ok so i have decided to fix my 667. After getting on 38lsb with my new (for me) cobra 146gtl and trying to make contacts across the pond. i know the output combiner is fried and im assuming all the transistors are fried so i am going to order a matched quad set of DEI 2879s, i would appreciate...
What if I were to get 3 ss102'' whips at the same height and mount a boom that went off of my roof and used the spacing of a maco 3 element bean and worked out some input matching network? I don't mind doing extra work or would it be more effective to build something that hoists a 3-5 element...
i think im just gonna mount the 102'' and leave it at that. see if i can get the swr good and thats it. then crank up the horsepower and call it a day.
i want to add a 3rd element to my 1998 audi a4 i am constructing something to mount a patroit 12ft base antenna off the back of the vehicle at a particular length and then use my 102'' whip on my trunk an the wilson 1000 on the roof of my vehicle. i want to make this setup directional and worth...
