Also, besides several of the Ranger made radios, Radio Shack radios, and President radios being reviewed by the ARRL and posted on their website I recently purchased the Gordon West w5yi Extra Class manual. In it are several pictures of an RCI 2950dx 10 meter mounted in a car. Just some more...
I wonder how the fcc found out?
Also if these radios show up on these lists not to market in the US, I assume one can legally buy them outside of the US but in the US is illegal?
Again I am not sure who makes these lists up.
Justin D. are you out there? Any comments?
How about Frank...
I certainly don't mean to deter anyone from buying or purchase a certain radio. I am just interested in the truth. I don't work for the FCC or the federal government. I just don't understand part 97.
It sounds like I can own and use these 10 meter radios on 10 meters in the US as long as...
I actually have heard of volunteer fire fighters doing just that. I wonder who makes up these lists. Is it ham radio operators or the FCC itself. Are they just trying to deter cbers from using 10 meter radios on cb?
So one can own one of these radios and use them on 10 meters if you are a...
So the majority believe that any radio can be used on the ham bands as long as they meat spectral purity levels. I see FCC lists but do not know who have made these lists up. Rangers, Connex, and Galaxys top the lists but several hams use these on the ham bands. I guess they are ok to use on the...
A few years ago I believe the ARRL tested a Ranger 2950 and 2970 and found it to be acceptable as far as spectral purity. Heck, HRO used to sell them.
It is my understanding that part 97 states that an fcc type acceptance is not required for ham radios.
I admit the big name amateur radio...
One can find a list on the fcc website for Ranger, Connex, Galaxy, Superstar, Uniden, and the like. I always thought that one could use these radios on the 10 meter band with the correct license. I thought they fell under part 97. I guess they are illegal to use and convert on the cb band but...
The Stryker has a single driver into a single pill for its PA board. The Stryker has two unique roger beeps. Look at a Stryker vs a Magnum S6 on a scope. The Stryker should show a cleaner pattern. The Stryker has a quiter receiver. I believe this is because unlike many 10 meter radios it is not...
What a great price. As I stated Cole's, Lesco, and Ramko have them wholesale for $149 plus shipping. The rebate is good until the 15th so the lowest I have seen it online is $159 from Palco. Thanks for the info and you got a great super deal. Ben in Florida
