J-pole antennas it looks like the coax would just short out. both the center and the sheild of the coax one on small arm other on long arm. with both arms conetted.:confused1:

for now i jsut made a coathanger antenna with 4 ground radiels and put it on top of my 20' pole. and wow i was hereing radios up to about 2 hour drive away. but i want to get a base antenna up soon. i dont have a swr meter yet. i was very imprest with the receave. and love the radio...

my ft-2900r is finaly here. :D. seems to rx great. cant wait to talk on it.

i did not want to go with the mag mount but my van has custom interrer and the roof is plywood insolation a nice aprostry and i did not want to tear it up. so i decided to just goahead and go with the mag mount.:bdh: it seems to stay in place and looks good. cant wait to use it. 73's to all

yea they are just 10 min's away. i go there all the time. love that place. that is were i bought the antenna from and the radio that i am still waiting for. hopefully it will be in tommoro.

bought a mobil antenna well i decided to just buy a mag mount. i bought the hustler mx-2 antenna. i have read several reviews on it and they all were great. now i just need my radio to come in. still wating.......:cursing:

i bought a new ft-2900 and it is still not in yet :headbang and the next test date is not untill 3-13-2010:headbang i have been studding and studding and ahhhh im ready to get the ball rolling so to speak. i seem to pass the pratice test every time for tech, the general not all the time...
