I sure can. I'll have to find the article I used. It's in the March 1972 QST and the 1973 ARRL Handbook.
Very simple and fun to build. It's also surprisingly stable with minor chirp.
I'm mostly on 7.040. I made some mistakes in the layout as far as making band changes simple, thought about...
I have 30 states, and 10 DXCC on 2M SSB using a Yaesu FT-857, a home made 5 element Yagi, and a 160W Mirage amp.
The antenna was from an old QST article on converting a 6 element Radio Shack FM antenna to 2M use. Works great, and all though that antenna is no longer made, it's very easy to make...
Sitting down here in the shack. Got the DX-160 fired up on 40M, warmed up my little 5W home brewed 6T9 transmitter. Plugged in the J-38 and zero beat the RX and called CQ on 7.040. Have myself a nice little QSO with a fella in PA.
It's a nice day!

Cool, did not see that in the link.
Will be interesting to see the quality of the parts used.
A VXO circuit is cheap to make but very prone to changes in temp, humidity, ect.
Nice looking case.
You'll have to wind a few torroids to get in the correct band segment, so I'm betting you'll have to pick your spot wisely.
Unless you plan to run an amp I'd say set it up for the QRP segment which is 7.285MC :thumbup1:
I like the 8 pin mic jack is labeled phones. LMAO.
VXO controlled just like the Ten-Tec 13XX series, probably uses the same cheap varactors. Should be nice and drifty like a good old 1011D.
I'll buy non working junk for parts, I just want the seller to be forthcoming.
Years ago I sold a 2M Yaesu all mode that the VFO would not lock on. I listed it just as it was and someone still paid $90 for it.
I love the guys who will post an ad, show the radio on a bench with an O-scope, a spectrum analyzer, freq counter, and other test gear in the back ground, AND claim to not know much about the radio!
That's not off the mark at all with a lot of eBay sellers. I recently bought a nice looking 148GTL from a guy who deals heavily with CB gear. Sold it as a tech special because it transmitted one channel above receive. Said he was not a tech and did not know anything about it other than that, I'm...
I worked a lot of SA stations between 28.300 and 28.450. Went to 28.022 and called CQ and had 3 very nice rag chews with BC, AZ, and CA. Had to leave before sunset so I bet I missed a lot of the Pac Rim.
I was not for and still am not for the abolishing the code requirement altogether.
I was for a code free entry level license with a bit more HF privileges. What gets me is the stupidity of publishing the question pool along with the answers.
Oh well... :bdh:

LOL I hear you.
No, I started out on 11M a LONG time ago. Got my first CB from a pawn shop when I was 12. Cost me $18 and 9 weeks of lunch money. :scared:
I keep a Cobra 148 in the shack and chat with some of the local boys from time to time.
Got my Ham Ticket 20 years ago, it was the new...
Same here,
Most are self proclaimed "CB'ers who have seen the errors of their ways and upgraded". In other words they found a few people who "helped" them get their license. Now they spend days camped out on 10M SSB ragging on the 11M guys.
Funny thing is how they have brought their "evil...
I use a Mosley TA33JR mounted on my garage. I used a 3' tripod from Radio Shack. 5' mast to the rotor, then another 5' to the beam. I also guyed the bottom of the rotor to the roof to cut down twisting and spread out the wind load. Braced in the rafters, used stainless bolts and lots of silicon...
Thanks for the tips guys.
I know Goo Gone is great for tape residue, I use De Oxit.
The other suggestions will be tried this weekend! Will post about it later.
