Does anyone have this book? I'm thinking about buying it, but I want to make sure it not only has the schematic, but also has the parts list for my Thunderbolt 305.
Hello...I just bought a super nice looking and running bone stock 201A. I would like to lower the the dead key to about 2-3 watts so I can safely run my little scout modulator. I know these radios are fussy so I want to make sure this won't hurt anything or if there is anything that should be...
Thank's for the replies. I just bought a real nice looking +3B off ebay for $80.00. I can't wait to get it. I had a +3B when I was a teenager (I'm 45). I have a Night K-Eagle on my tube Robyn and it sounds great, but I have always thought that Turners sound good on the SS stuff. It's cool to...
I have a Colt SSB "Black Shadow" base that is mint (maybe NOS) in the box with everything in the orginal plastic sleeves and such...box even looks new. I've been keeping it as a collectable, but I think I'm going to run it now. What mic sounds the best on these rigs? I've been leaning toward a...
I wanted a big Varmint. That's how I kept hearing they were unreliable. I would still love one. As a matter of fact, several years ago I bought a total of 21 NOS 6LR6's being sure that I WAS going to buy one. I've still got the tubes.
Sorry, I thought your post was the OP's amp of discussion...my bad. I know very little about electronics, but I've heard more than once that Varmints are not built very well.

Check this one out. $1,500.00 to get in the game.

Yeah...I know. That's why I said in a previous post that I thought the standby light would be a good idea and I bet that's why the light was added plus the switch was changed. I have a feeling somebody made that exact mistake. My electronics knowledge is next to nothing so when it gets here, I...
Cool, thank you. I'm just gonna use it for local "round table" BSing so I can get out a little better and save the sweep tube amp for more important work. My old Robyn sounds great, but is a weakling.
What I was asking is did it come with the long or short style toggle? I'm sure it didn't come with 2 different length switches...right? I would like to have both switches be of the same type just for cosmetics. I probably will just use a rubber plug where that added light is just to get it back...
Mine has two different length switches. The one on the right (standby) is longer. I bet the short one for power is the stock one...right? I wonder if that added light is hooked to that standby switch. It would be nice to have a light for the standby so I don't accidently run all that power...
Yeah, someone added it. My guess is that they wanted a "standby/on" light as well. The amp is in the mail so I will see what's up in a couple of days.
Edit: It has a single 6CA7/EL34 tube.
I just bought this little Scout. I gave up on my other modulator because I couldn't find another tuner pot for it. The seller says the little light in the left lower corner doesn't work and he doesn't even know what it's for. Do any of you know what's it's for?
Thanks guys, Wayne...
John, that's what I'm saying. I'm not defending these idiots...I'm saying the military can and should not allow them to enlist.
Yeah, I've been hearing all this crap making him the victim too. I guess some are blaming his actions on post traumatic stress disorder or whatever it's called even...
