Looking for pictures of homemade radio benches

The rotor is turning a hex beam, it would be easier to link you to my QRZ page to see my antennas. I have a caged dipole I am working on today for 80 meters. https://www.qrz.com/db/KD9NTD

Looking for pictures of homemade radio benches

Yes sir, I actually double posted. I made another thread on the "lets see your setup" and it was there I mentioned that I was working on making shelves :). I am not a fan of stacking stuff either, I am at a midway point. I have to return to Menards and get more planks,,,, and let the sawdust...

    My home built ham shack

I built this from standard shelving planks found at Menards. The picture doesn't show it, but continuing to the right is my flat screen TV, which goes about another 6 feet. Nothing on the market that quite fit my needs, or was ridiculously expensive, so I toiled at this instead. I am not a fan...

Looking for pictures of homemade radio benches

I’m late to this thread but I built this one from standard shelving planks found at menards. I built it because I couldn’t find anything on the market that suited my wants. It is secured to the wall. Not pictured but it completes its bend and houses my flat screen TV on the right

    Hustler B-5TV tuning problems

Just in case anyone cares to know,,,, I prayed to whatever might be listening, bundled up well, then proceeded to the great outside. I took a chain link fence rail and pounded it into the ground next to my mobile home. I clamped the pipe well to the house, then installed the antenna about 3...

    Hustler B-5TV tuning problems

I think Hustler has changed their position on the trap adjustment. I did not get mine from DX Engineering but the instructions that shipped with mine from Hustler stated that trap adjustment may be necessary

    Hustler B-5TV tuning problems

Edited I thought I had the top trap upside down but that’s not what it is, it’s impossible for the top trap to be upside down because the 2 set screws that hold the 80 meter antenna must be up. but this afternoon I’m gonna study this all over again and ensure that I didn’t put anything...

    Hustler B-5TV tuning problems

I had to move the traps to get even as far as I am now. I was dismayed that the 40 meter had no trap to move,,,, it was just me and the wind. I guess what I am trying to say is, I have the rest of the bands within reason, so I am at a loss on what to do next. Should I try to get the rest of the...

    Hustler B-5TV tuning problems

Hello there. I wanted to get some advice. I purchased this antenna and I have it on a good radial system, properly grounded on a DX Engineering hinge. About 50 radials in all, each going about 50 feet out. I AM however very close to my metal mobile home,,,,, about 13 feet which I know is not...

Hooking up a sweet 16 help please

I figured it out. When I was fooling around back there today I disconnected my ground wire. None of my equipment was grounded. I fixed the wire,,,,,, problem solved

Hooking up a sweet 16 help please

It's an MFJ-989D, its supposed ot be able to handle legal power. When I use this antenna tuner and turn my amp on, I get a squeal, when I bypass the tuner (coax 1 direct) it clears up. I adjusted my SWR on it by setting my radio to about 10 watts and bringing it down to no reflect. The SWR...

Hooking up a sweet 16 help please

I live on a corner, and I have power lines going up the front AND side of my place, I am sure it's not doing me much favors with my SWR. I am driving the Texas Star with 100% RF output from my Icom 7300, which should be about 100 watts. I took the bearcat out today and went back to the Icom to...

Hooking up a sweet 16 help please

Dan I am not sure because I do not have a wattmeter in line right now, but if I remember the last time we checked it, I was putting out right at 1000. Not too sure if I should be getting more or not, plus the meter that I used to use was really old and I am not too sure it was very accurate. I...

Hooking up a sweet 16 help please

This Maco V58 was a complete bitch to try and get the SWR low. I almost lost my religion trying. We worked on it half the day before we just cried uncle and went with it the best we could. Many were telling me that they would probably drop once we raised the antenna, but nope that did not...

Hooking up a sweet 16 help please

So the tuner should be the first thing coming out of the radio? My SWR is 1.7, I think I recall reading somewhere that it needs to be 1.3 or lower to run this amp, does anyone disagree? If the info is wrong, I can use the tuner on my ham gear instead

Hooking up a sweet 16 help please

I am not sure how to correctly hook this all up. The more I try to think it out, the more confused I am making it. I have a Bearcat CB, an RM Italy 100 watt kicker mounted on top of it, an MFJ versa tuner, and a Texas Star sweet 16 (I think thats a dx 1600?). I wanted the rm italy kicker in...
