With the way propagation comes in and out, I think two hours between transmissions is too long. There are LOTS of continuous beacons transmitting on the bottom of 10m. Why not just use those because if 10m is open, 11m will be.

To me, synchronized means that they track exactly. If the radio is a bit out of alignment that would not be the case, hence my preference for the old term "locked" or "unlocked".

Use RG-11. It is the same size as RG-8 but is 75 ohms and has a solderable shield.
