I have an idea how to end the CB vrs. ham war:)

To be honest, that would create more tension. Why? Because ham's have to take tests to show they know the basics of radio operation, basic skills surrounding the hobby. That doesn't mean a typical CB'er does not, but it proves through a certification process, much like earning a degree or...

hahahaha. radioactive busted by the fcc

I concur, maybe he thought he was exempt in his audaciousness? Although the site states "RadioActive is authorized to sell Texas Star", does that mean FCC authorized or just via Texas Star? I guess the question would be is Texas Star authorized to distribute or sell these amps, if no why...

    hp5000 watt/swr 3window meter

Yes I have tried the Palstar LPF with fairly good success. Pretty much its an updated version of the Vectronics LP30. Both use the 9-pole Chebyshev filter designs. Paul still tests and hand-tunes each one--one at a time.

    Google ads bothering me

When I don't want to look at the ads, I just resize my browser window so I can conveniently remove the ads on the left. Most of the time I zone them out, my wife says I am good at zoning things out. :)

    Dosy PM-1000 watt meter problem

I concur, it could be a diode. Yeah it also could have been due to a truck stop tuner that claimed the needle was [gasp]"Stingy"? Did you replace the diode?

    Opinions on Service Monitors

Greetings forum! I am considering a purchase of a used service monitor. If I move forward, I would be looking for one with a built-in spectrum analyzer, Sinad, Signal, deviation, and RF Generator, wattmeter with a 100watt input peak capability. This would be used for two-way radio calibration...

WELL MY FOOTS NOW IN THE DOOR

Congrats Tony, and fine business on the 10 meter contact. Just make sure you use "sugar" instead of "sierra", for some reason the OT'mers seem to use that phonetic designation in my area. I don't have an "S" in my call so I don't use it. Ah well... I have heard of some pretty interesting...

    linear one

I use Server 2003 to host some of my sites and FTP areas. I use DynDNS with an auto updating dns since my IP changes often. It doesn't cost anything to go through them. One can use dreamweaver, MS Publisher, Frontpage, and a few others to setup webpages. When I am away from home I use...

HELP with HIGH SWR icon on Yaesu FT-900

I hear this could be a grounding problem in the LPF circuit which may explain the TX and RX problems you are seeing. I believe the problem may not be apparent through a dummy load, but when using an antenna with feed-line. Some have mentioned varying the feed-line length (RF hot spots), but I...
