You are OK, some meters are just more accurate than others.

I'll give this a shot and I hope others jump in as well. The SWR at the transmitter only tells you what % of power is being transferred from the transmitter up the feeline to the antenna. It does not tell you how "good" your antenna is. Something else to think about, at 100 watts a 1.1...

a good rule of thumb is that you want to avoid loading if you can. if you do have to load, i prefer center loaded and top loaded antennas. i believe there is evidence for this but like anything else, it is disputed anyway.

It doesn't make much sense to me either, trying to 'upgrade' a 1/2 wave end fed antenna is a little like trying to 'upgrade' a center fed 1/2 wave dipole! And 'upgrading' from an antenna with no loading coils- to an antenna with loading coils seems counter intuitive to me.

For ham I use AES, and Ham Radio Outlet...I like them both. AES is very close the eqipment gets here quick and HRO is pretty much just as fast. I bought from Burghardt's one time and they did OK. I sent an MO certified mail and they couldn't figure out they had to sign for it, so it sat...
