    agree on that,..... the CB "18 foot" thingy is a myth, however, with certain antennas, (end fed Zeps for instance) it does make a difference if it is fed from a Voltage loop or a Current loop;)

    there are 2 versions of PA's in the 706MKII series,.... don't even consider anything with a SN lower than 16xxxxx. actually ,.. think hard about any 706, unless it is really cheap, there are much better rigs avail now.

    well, for MONO band antenas, I do favor "tuned feedlines", however, 2 meters is 4 MHz wide. I would pick the part of the band you intend to operate on and aim for that freq range. for some projects, go here and look around Antenna Projects or perhaps a ground plane antenna built on a chassis...

    Gee, I dunno about that. its not the best idea, but, it is perfectly legal. the ONLY band where USB/LSB usage is regulated by the FCC is 60 meters
