    On or Off

I've been thinking about this, and never asked before. I'm in and out of my garage / shack probably 6 times a day. I'll come down here and Radio for a couple of hours, and then go do something else. Every time I leave I turn all my equipment off. I'm just wondering if that's hard on a radio ...

    160 meters how to....???

The EFHW 1080 I have up in a tree 35 ft in an inverted L works well for me on 160m. I bought a tuner just so I could use my Icom 7300 on this band with this antenna. There's a group I'm in daily that covers TN,NC,SC,KY,AL,GA, so it works ok. A cut wire for the band is always better, but this...

    6 meter Midland

Roger that. I will definitely get on the air and make some noise. Thanks for the comm sked info. I really need to get my antenna up in the air more. I've just been working around the property lately, with all this good WX. Soon, when it gets cold out is usually when I hang antennas. My Son and I...

    6 meter Midland

It would be awesome to work your station on 6. I have a 6m horizontal dipole for Dx. Maybe we could work out a comm sked on SSB. To be honest my only DX so far on 6m has been To Kingsport TN which is only 40 miles lol, but I keep trying. Usually on 50.125 ssb. Some DX right? Hahaha. I know...

    6 meter Midland

The antenna is at approx 2800 ft, and the grid square should be the same as mine at EM86XD. Thanks for asking BJ radionut. He said it's published in SERA, but I haven't checked yet. This same reapeater was used a long time ago around here, and had a pretty good following out to about 40 miles...

    6 meter Midland

This radio is set to 53.450 FM with a pl of 100. It has others, like 52.525 , but we just use 53.450. There's really nobody around here that uses this small reapeater. We're up here in the sticks. We're hoping to get more activity, but not holding our breath. It's just fun. We talk every morning...

    6 meter Midland

Check out my new to me Midland 70-050c 6 meter mobile. My Elmer has 3 of these. 2 are used on his 6 meter repeater. This one has 40 watts. I'm using it on FM for local rag chew. Simple, but it works and sounds great.

    11 meter is very quiet?

I get it. I just got really tired of going long periods of time on 11m not hearing much day after day during this solar cycle. I just knew there had to be more on the Air. 1st day I through a wire over a high tree branch I was amazed of how much was really out there. Been a CB'er since 1970, and...
