Maybe 2-3w DK into amp
but more important I think you want the DK out of the amp around 60-70w, so adjust the radio to achieve that DK out of the amp.
Who cares if some meter says X amount and another meter says something different.
As long as the owner/operator is happy and it is showing a ballpark number I dont think its critical that a Bird shows 400watts and a Dosy shows 450watts.

The uniden 510 with a wilson 1000 would be a great starter setup.
and if you upgrade in the future keep it as a back up radio or for a second vehicle
remember to put your money into a quality antenna first.

you will not have to upgrade the antenna...
you may want to invest in a meter that will show your modulation etc,...
radios with different mics will want the mic gain set in different places
you will be able to tell alot with a meter.
