how do you think it compares to a IC-7410 in the recieve department in terms of dynamic range etc.. it seems the IC-7410 is still a better radio in terms of receive. Does it beat the IC-7200 as a receiver?

There are capabilities to triangulate your position in seconds but those assets and capabilities belong to other agencies. The FCC has more important battles to fight and 11 meters is way down in the food chain.

no one uses it except CB. At this point why not just open it legally and allow people to use Ham equipment to operate on the band. That sucks I wish i could have found my dads CB call sign. I remember him getting one in the early 70s The funny thing was he was into linears and all that stuff. I bought him an Icom export CB and he loves it, all the knobs and buttond etc..

Ahh so you never knew Icom sold export radios as well. Way better than those other export brands. The icoms are built like tanks and will give you clean and stable signal.

I want to add that my RM Italy still works great since 2015 when I purchased it, I would say a solid product. The vendor still sells them on ebay (Official reseller)

lol nice to see a fan of Icom Export radios :) I am a big fan of using such equipment, much cleaner transmit and better recieve with the roofing filters etc.. The great thing is when you get your ticket, now you have everything you need to go on the 20 meter band etc..

IC-7200, Switching powersupply,Sirio Performer mobile antenna. I want to set up a better base but for now this gets me out there.

And reporting the IC-7200 still works like a champ :) Even in a temp field setup using a Sirio performer 5000 mobile and not the best SWR (1.5-2.0). getting reports of good clean AM audio with no splatter etc.. and solid signal.

Thats good news, you can use it on 11 meter since the equipment is grandfathered in prior to change. :)

Wow you should not be bleeding in your speakers. I would fix the radio setup. look at attaching a B11 ISO from radiowavz That is an isolation transformer.

dont over complicate things, just order it from dx or giga and be done with it.

If only I can get an antenna 30 feet up. my 102inch whip is invisible, its painted light blue and its about 12-14 feet high. limited placement locations. It has a good counterpoise. its a low Q antenna pretty wide band but now I can talk to all the locals no issues.
