Since getting the 142 back from the shop, turned out to be a mic. contact problem that I fixed with a pipe cleaner:oops:

Howdy, I'm running the Palomar E-250 coupled with a Stock Uniden 538 XLW, they've been connected and stable for over 12 years now with no failures, perhaps different chips in mine

I'm Gus and I have an old 142 rig that's been serving faithfully until a couple of years back.
While the unit receives 5x5, the transmitting modulation is near 0% by the gauge. The SWR seems okay and it's mated to an A-99 Antron antenna with RG8...
