It's a wonderful thing to trade in a old wife and shack and get a new wife and shack. I've been there! Your shack and wife look great. :thumbup1: Out with the old and in with the new!
I have a digital voice and cw recorder built into the radio. I can put it in repeat or loop mode and tell it how long to leave gaps in between transmissions. Turn the receive volume down to 0 and let it go for as long as you want. Just make sure your fans are working because she will get hot...

If they come up on 10 meters without a license, most likely they will run into my propagation beacon for experimental and educational purposes. Nice propagation beacon right near two truck stops. Good place for it. At least someone is listening to it and can learn from it. :tongue_smilie:

How do these stations with these EQ's sound so good and are so far away when they run "wide"? I have a built in EQ and if I use ESSB to get that nice sound, my signal gets buried in the noise even running 1500 watts over long distances. If I turn off the ESSB and run SSB, the stations hear me...
Tnx for the information. I'll have to join the yahoo groups. It used to be on 3872 every night but it's no longer there. Sometimes I just like to listen in there.
Those FCC links were interesting. I didn't know until now that they actually sent letters out. How long does those warning notices stay on record, forever ,or do they get their slate wiped clean after a while and come back again?
After reading this post, I tried AM tonight on 75 meters for the first time. I thought that AM sounded distorted unless you had real AM vintage equipment but I proved myself wrong. I fired up my Elecraft K3 on AM and they said the audio sounded real good on up in CT. I was running 50 watts...
