    You will have to provide DC voltage to the tuner. A separate line from any 12 VDC source, or just a 9 volt battery connected to a jack. READ the manual, there are two,............ yes 2 "auto" modes on the proII. they are not the same.

    Anything that is on a sliding hinge type contact will affect the receiver. I haven't noticed a vswr change due to open/closed doors, but I never checked either. All my trunk/door hinges have a bonding strap across them. the biggest and most important things to bond are the horizontal items...

    there are different programs "aimed" at different uses,.. contesting.. Dx, ect. for a general daily logging program, I use LOG4OM. it free, pretty EZ to set p, and it will create ADIF format files for uploading. good luck

    I read the entire thing... thats not the system on American trains. Nothing on an American train transmits except on the 220 MHz band. Good Luck

    sorry you are getting interference, but, PTC is probably not the cause. It might be something else onboard a train though. PTC does not use 27 MHz. It uses 217 - 220 MHz. there is a signal embedded on the tracks that an onboard sensor detects. nothing goes the other direction using the...

    The 7300 receiver is junk when operated in a noisy RF environment, other than that, it is a decent starter radio. A second antenna output would be nice. No, I am not an ICOM "basher", just telling the truth about that particular rig.
