This is what I am planning up right now.
I have a 1992 Buick Regal, and there is NO room in there to mount a standard CB radio, it has a center console!
I am a Tech Licensee, and a CB user.
There are a few things I want.
-NO RF in the interior, call coax/transmitters must be in...
Ebay is SHIT, it's all in the SELLERS favor.
IMO Ebay is not worth it, the scum that scams can cause you to loose $$$ while you are trying to save a few bucks.
I've got BURNED before, never again! I buy NEW items, keep ya screwdrivers out of it!\
..and the CB hobby is the...
Now I'm curious, is it the one that has "mauldroppers"?
BTW I don't think anyone owned Tommy2watt, and why isn't this stuff discussed at CBRetards.com?
When I was at the old "1 stop electronics" forum, there was some sort of beef over Skryker radios.....
and why is there so many...
FYI: I'm not talking about the forum, I'm talking about the radios and amps they sell. I've bought a amp(x-40) from One stop many years ago, and wondering if they do good business still?
(Yes I know about the forum, Tommy2watt and that whole mess.)
Is Xforceamps.com actually the new "one stop electronics" website?
One stop electronics used to be in the Chicago area, and I had both good and bad experiences.
The Xforceamps.com site has references to one stop electronics (and I used to be on his forum)
Anyone done business with this website: 292 Radio Shop / FireCommunications Network.......The Export Radio Specialists
He list NO address, only a email form, so I'm looking at his palomar amps.
Any Ideals where I can get a schematic of this radio? The voltages to the radio are good, 13.9 Volts.
I can't seem to find a good schematic of the board anywhere, the chip on the board says:
NEC KB3219
D2B16C (maybe that is D2816c?)
I think I got the UPD 2816.
looking through the insides, there seems to be surface oxidation on everything..
and a diode was clipped...
and a switch on the bottom labeled "High Med Low" seems to be some sort of expansion, there are two crystals on this extree board:wink:
When I toggle the switch it is...
OPPS, it's actually a President "Dwight D."
and yes it does not transmit, it does turn on, the CLOCK works. I key the mic and get NO dead key(the TX light comes ON), receive is very very LOW to none(with squelch all the way down) tried a different speaker, still very low static level...
It's in really good cosmetic shape, could be something as a broken mic cable or the PA switch is turned on. :sneaky2:
or blown finals.... but it also has the external speaker on the left, the whole radio is in great cosmetic shape, and I was talking to some locals. They said that shops...
Why did they ever stop making these, sure we got smaller CB's today, but with SSB?
I got one, the PC 122XL it is *the* compact CB to have. I have jammed and broadcasted till the chassis got fairly warm, it's still going, in it's stock form with a X-Force for the bump.

I found a very nice shape President Madison, it is at a "bargain barn" it has on the tag that it does not transmit.
They are asking 25 bucks. Can this radio be fixed economically? I THINK it is the four pin version, will have to go back and double check.
