Maco y quad or jo gun smoken gun 2

A friend of mine in western NY has a Y quad on a 40 ft. tower and he really likes it's performance. He talks DX pretty much at will with just a TS DX250 on a power supply. That's about all the input I have for the two antennas you mentioned. 8)

    GALAXY DX 88HL ?????

I've been using an 88HL from Bob's CB in PA for 2 years now and have found it to be a great performer. I've heard about SSB drift with the Galaxy line, but haven't noticed it with mine. I get a lot of compliments on how it sounds, so I'm a satisfied customer. 8)

    Hybrid for 11 meters.

Was wondering if anyone here has ever made a quagi for 11 meters? I'm in the process of putting up a 2nd tower with a horizontally polarized beam to go along with the vertical quad I have now and was considering the hybrid design. A local years back was attempting to add directors to a PDL2...

    Diamonds or Squares?

I've always built mine in the diamond configuration for the same reasons W6DPS stated: feedpoint, feedline, balun support by the fiberglass supports. Good friend of mine builds his in squares. Neither of us has had any problems with damage caused by ice or wind storms. There used to be an...

SUPER TINKER "VICTORNOX" SWISS ARMY KNIFE

Haven't seen one shaped exactly like that before, but could it be a "gut hook" blade for removing entrails from upland game birds? I have an older knife I use for small game hunting that has a gut hook blade but it's slightly longer and has a more pronounced hook shape to it. Extremely quick...

You may find this interesting/amusing/ludicrous (pick one!)

In all seriousness, years back a guy I know locally had Vietnamese neighbors that caused his family more than a few problems. So just to agitate them he took his kid's aluminum snow saucer, mounted a 4' Fire-Stik in the center of it, stuck it on a mast in a tripod on the ground and aimed it at...

I'm guessing that the HOA or city zoning might have a minor stroke.

You may find this interesting/amusing/ludicrous (pick one!)

Debated whether to post this or not, but....... Stopped by the local donut shop the other day to refill the Thermos and happened to overhear the topic of discussion at a table led by the local "Channel Master/King of the Band/Zircon-encrusted Screwdriver/Mega-tech" (you get the picture) and...
