You can try adding an Electrolytic Capacitor to the inside of the radio at the power input.
I use between a 2200-4700uf 35 or 50V capacitor depending on the room allowed. Attach one leg to the negative and one to the positive.

My thoughts exactly. That LMR 400 has a bend radius of 1 inch. The solid center conductor can and will break if you are not careful.
The Wilson trunk mount had RG 59U originally. How where you able to get the LMR 400 into the base? Did you have to drill it out or did it fit?

His quality has dropped lately. It's as if he is using regular paper to cut out the faceplates then spraying them with a clear coat. The glue on the back is weak and the front of the sticker itself starts peeling up on the corners.
