Hi all. Like the tittle states, anybody ever try them??? Wanting to get a better signal inside my 40x60 steel pole building. Have several buddies with the same setup with shops and garages. Signals outside are good, just a bit cold this time of the year in Iowa to stand out there!
I would need...
For this reason is why I have installed an inline crowbar circuit from all of my power supplies and 12v DC power strips. A simple 2 fuse and 1 diode circuit in a small project box for peace of mind.
LOL Driver. No, I hear some horror stories on the 150 and 200 GTL radios. And I have plenty of radios that work better for me. This is a strange little bugger for sure. Looks well put together inside. Everything "appears factory stock". Me thinks someone may have tried to drive it too hard at...
Hello folks. I have a little amp that I can not find much info on. Problem is on the power setting switch. 2 of the padding resistors are burnt/discolored and I don't trust the values my meter is reading. Nothing on CB tricks that I have found. Been burning thru the Google searches for a week...
Having the radio cases grounded to that lug on the power supply, aren't you mixing the RF grounds of the radios with the supply case ground? Supply case ground is for short circuit/shock protection for us meat bags. Since the supply is a switcher, you may be inducing a very small current to the...
If I recall.... isn't that from a surface mount resistor in the freq counter box that is too small wattage wise to drop the supply voltage to the counter box? The factory resistor gets really hot because it can not dissipate the heat well. I think Mike's radio repair did a video on it on youtube...
I have what Mike has. GC Electronics Radio-TV Service Solvent. Works great on the glue and other stuff like flux removal. NOT CHEAP! It cost me dang near $48 for a 16oz glass bottle. But a little goes a long way so should never need to but it again I hope!
I too have a dead display 2510 here...
I have Polyphasers on all lines in a NEMA outside waterproof enclosure with 2 #4 ground wires to 3-8ft ground rods at base of tower. Also1 3inch wide cooper RF ground strap bonded from tower leg to buried RF ground system around my top hat concrete base.
I do un-hook and ground all lines in...
And for the record... the original meter did the same thing. I only replaced it cuz the original meter, someone glued in a replacement wheat lamp and the needle was hitting the glue gobs. Lucky it takes a Cobra 148 style meter and I have some in stock. Just swapped out the scale insert and...
