the squelch knob does 2 thing's 1 is to squelch out the noise 2 is to reset the cpu memory all the way counter clock wize it will click thats the reset every time you turn off the radio it reset's to 26000 or 29000. just bring the squelch up after the click and you should be ok...

dodgeboy hook the radio stright to the battery should cure your porb we have a durango also and run a magnum s980 and have to run the noise blanker and have no probs also what type of antenna are you useing

your noise is coming from the electric fuel pump and the injector's you have a electronic controlled motor try this put some chokes on the wire's for the injectors and see what happends

I still run my AR3300 100 watt everyday in the mobile send it out to bob's last winter for a check up and he offered to buy it from me. I have had this radio sense 1987 and have not found any thing that sounds or receives as good ill never get rid of this one
