The antenna is an IMAX 2000 @ 25 feet, in town, near power-lines.
My noise floor typically varies from S3 to S7, the really good days the noise floor will drop to S1. I think I have a bad insulator or transformer near me because the S7 days sound exactly like an old AC stick welder.
Just my opinion, there is no way I would wait 2+ years for a rejiggered chinezium radio. Just go buy an HF rig, open it up and you will have a far better radio on TX and RX, than the 955 ever dreamed of being,, for the same money. Again just my opinion.
Precisely this! There is a ton of room on 10, several locals are studying for this very reason. Sure there are idiots on the Ham bands as well, but it's just a spin of the dial to find another frequency to use.
What Brother DXer said. Pick the numbers you want, although you may want to listen for awhile so you don't end up with another locals numbers. Mine came from the displacement of the motorcycle I ride. I'm "1340 Nebraska" or "1340 Nebraska Mobile" when I'm in the Exploder.
I was hoping this quality individual learned his lesson... I guess you can't expect to much when he doesn't even understand how a cheap SDR works and why strong signals look like they are splattering on said SDR's scope.
