i spent 6 years in the military and i seen stuff "misplaced" nearly everyday
everything from rolls of toilet paper to towable generators
this radio would walk off easy if it wasnt tied down or welded
if nobody has tried it yet
go to the local hardware store purchase a T-post driver
this thing does miracles on ground rods
no more pouding or standing on top of ladder to get a rod started
good ol T-post driver
well bring that 1200 and the 16 and put it on the bird meter
and i will even be nice enough to use the 1000 watt slug
even though neither amp will have enough get up and go to even get the needle up 3/4 of the way
next person will say
well hey my 667 does 1000 watts
and i say hey i let you...
well duh if you stood between 2 antennas you think your hair might want to stand up
just saying your van is between both of them antennas so its feeding rf right back onto the van
get the antennas up higher
if you just mounted 1 of those antenas on top towards the rear
i bet alot of things...
for some the 3000 would be a better choice
and for other some people have to go to the radio station at the first of every year and pick up the old tubes and replace with new tubes
even the pulls are at 85 to 90 %
since the tubes have to be "recycled" not just thrown in the trash
then thats...
you can buy them brand new
and wont have to worry about people that stick their hands in it
you just haveto be willing to pay a little more for that little bit of knowing whos been i nit
