It's a fantastic little kit and I've used it many times. As mentioned I got it from a radio amateur down here when he bought a bigger one, so I have no link.
There's also no brand on it, it only says "Microscope":ROFLMAO:
Nothing in the menu either.
Pretty sure he got it from AliExpress...
While the head lamp isn't a bad idea and I probably should look for one myself one day. Personally I prefer a little microscope.
I have this one. It's detachable, can change height too.
It's no problem putting a PCB under it and solder while it is underneath the microscope. Got it from my elmer...
Oh I just remembered something.
Somebody down here asked how he could see the difference between long case and short case. As a result we both ended up measuring our radio's. Turns out he has a short case one.
It is probably a good idea to add the measurements of the long case radio to the...
Hi,
I updated my AnyTone AT5555 NII LONG CASE version and am quite happy with it.
So while I currently don't want to put the old firmware back, the thing that strikes me is that I do not even have the old firmware. Nor did I see a way to extract the old firmware from the software that was part...
Been spending more time on it searching and readon on the web.
Read somewhere that for a custom coil TOKO would put the numbers of the producer on them. Which might explain why I can't locate the cans I have down here. They are probably custom ones.
One thing that's peculiar about those TOKO...
For empty ones I would probably look at AliExpress, but I'm sure there's alternative places.
As for me knowing more about cans, I sincerely doubt it, but I can share the info on TOKO cans that I've found so far.
Here's a huge PDF (187MB)
https://archive.org/details/toko-coils-n-filters-1993-a...
Thanks, I just compared it with what I have on file and this pdf was in the collection, along with a whole bunch of others.
It was surprising to me that TOKO had made so many transformers that you can't find anything about online.
As an example. Among others, I've been gifted 35 toko...
I've got a whole bunch of TOKO transformers here and the numbers on them are not that useful. Same for some existing prints I want to rebuild with transformers on them that are anyone's guess as to what is needed.
So I was at first trying to find more details about the numbers on them - without...
I think I"ve got your kind of noise and S7 - S9.. had it for years now.
In my case it's several neighbors with internet over power devices. Got the worst one to replace theirs with one I gave them, but down here it's a never ending story, too many neighbors very closeby and they change regularly...
A tinySA Spectrum Analyzer also has a signal generator function.
Plus it is an awesome little Spectrum Analyzer.
Bonus.. they are cheap, less than $100,-

The front of that radio is exactly like a kraco 2500 I have down here, except my kraco is black. It also only has 40 channels atm.
Didn't know for over a week what brand it was as it had no labels at all.
This radio is the same as: Royce 1-639, Pace 8093 and SBE LCMS-4
Apparently the Sommerkamp...
As I'm not from the US.. but still curious about "CBRS" I wondered what it was.
Seems it stands for this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_Broadband_Radio_Service
Is that correct? It does not seem be about the normal CB band?
Also found it interesting that it mentions make no contact...
Something like this might work:
https://www.wimo.com/en/pni-programmabe-echo-roger-beep-module
quote:
Any audio file in .mp3 or .wav format with a length of up to 1.5 seconds can be used as a roger beep. It will be played automatically at the end of your broadcast, immediately after you release...
Interesting topic thanks.
I did build one of these:
Other alternatives I used are:
Wrapping a small coil around a jumper cable
Pull the middle section of a three way female SO239 connector
Using attenuators (if you need an exact measurement)
There's many ways to pick up a bit of signal...
Hi,
That made me do a bit of "google dorking" and search for Steve's (G3TXQ) original quotes. Google groups appears to have archived some of it.
They were interesting, let me share a few of those original statements by linking to the forum threads...
Hawkeye351, as one of those that don't post much.. I saw your rant, recognized it as such and saw no issues with it.
Don't let the negative replies get to you.
It's an internet thing, ignore them and carry on ( I am well aware that that's easier said than done).
Take your time and hope to...
You'd see the stabo 9082 variant fairly regularly down here (in the Netherlands) on the 2nd hand online websites.
