Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would not work ?

The manual claims 1.1watts. But, claims could be false. I do not have a power-meter or SWR yet. https://www.homecontrols.com/homecontrols/products/pdfs/DA-DakotaAlert/DAMAPS_Manual.pdf

Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would not work ?

I just re-ran the Btech amp at 0.2miles (flat terrain) and roughly 75yards, both with the exact same response (Btech amp indicates it is transmitting, but nothing there is no audio at the radio/receiver.) Is it possible that DakotaAlert's radio/receiver is designed to unaccept transmissions...

Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would not work ?

Well, I connected up the MURS-base antenna to the output of the Btech amplifier and the DakotaAlert antenna-out to the input of the Btech amplifier. When I intentionally trip the DakotaAlert, I get a red TX LED on the amp for about the same amount of time that the alert msg usually plays...

Can you really just connect any two radios with an audio cable like this and form a repeater? I.e., just connect them with an audio cable.

Well heck, gonna give it a try. if it doesn't work, will just add the stuff to my amazon-return pile....

Can you really just connect any two radios with an audio cable like this and form a repeater? I.e., just connect them with an audio cable.

If I daisy-chain ten [10] Baofeng UV-5R's together, each receiver/vox pair in LOS (line-of-sight) to the next pair, to get around some really tall obstacles, would that work out ? OR, SINCE THE UV-5R ONLY HAS TWO BANDS AND NOT 5 BANDS, I GUESS THAT WON'T WORK AT ALL ? Or, can I just use 5...

Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would not work ?

Also, I am very interested in REPEATERS that simply repeat the signal from A to B to C to D to E. So, A is the original detector. It sends the signal to B, who sends it to C, who sends it to D, who finally sends it to E where I can hear it. The path from A to B to C to D to E would be placed...

Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would not work ?

Welp, tried the MURS-base antenna from Firestik.com today -- it alone did not cure the problem. So, now it's up to the TPL amplifier (which has not arrived yet). The DakotaAlert has been a massive disappointment and frustration so far..... edit/add: I am also gonna try a weirdo approach of...

Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would not work ?

This is the one I bought. The pictures are gone as you can tell, just a tiny thumbnail left. I think I have all the RF-in and RF_out connectors/cables and transmitter-connectors/cables and antenna-connectors/cables ordered that I will need...

Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would not work ?

definitely will not short 1to2 or 3to4. so, will short the other pairs externally; I thought might maybe the ebay connector would make it simpler but was not sure -- cant see inside that connector. Amp has not arrived yet. the original ebay pictures went into god-knows-where ether. but i am...

Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would not work ?

Are pins 3 and 4 already shorted together internally, or do I need to short them (likewise for pins 1 and 2)? Or is the below ebay connector a better way to go? https://imgdump5.novarata.net/m8tqxu.jpg...

Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would not work ?

The power-connector: The pdf manual shows -13.8v and +13.8v here (last link below): Does that mean I need a 24volt power supply ? (I want to assume you just connect ground to the black end and +12volts to the red end, but thought it wise to double-check.)...

Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would not work ?

My receiver (M538 handheld) was on one of three places (tried all three ways): (1) 11.5feet off the ground on a metal broomstick on the top of my vehicle (2) connected to the roof-rack of my vehicle with zip-ties (3) antenna port connected via wire to a huge aluminum ladder on the roof of my...

Can anyone think of why sticking the below amplifier between the below transmitter and its antenna would not work ?

I have 325 yards from transmitter (MURS MAPS) to receiver (M538-handheld). Tall grass, dirt mounds, etc, may be what is giving it trouble. I just bought this antenna which hopefully will help on the transmitting end. I have been having a bucket-load of unreliable-communication issues up to...
