Great sounding rig on AM...OK on ssb. I prefer them to 2995's if you are primarily an Am talker. If you do a lot of ssb, then the 2995 is the way to go in a high powered base station. Although at that price point, I'd be looking at a ham rig. preacherman

It's more a matter of how the radio has been tuned and the nature of the filtering in the radio. I'm sure either DTB or 8541 can do a good job of aligning the radio both on transmit and receive. You can also beef up the filtering with a channel guard kit from CBC international. At the end...

While it will never be mistake for a well tuned general lee or on of the bigger galaxy's, my "doc-tuned" 2510 gets nothing but good reports on the AM audio as well as ssb. YMMV preacherman
